We are the business network for Greymouth. We put the people who run businesses here in the same room and give them one voice when it counts. Right now we have two goals: grow our membership, and get local businesses signed up to our group merchant rate.

The more businesses that join, the louder our voice and the stronger our hand when we negotiate. Membership is $99 for 12 months, GST included, and it is open to any business trading in the Grey District.

Our mark is the Māwheranui, the Grey River, drawn as a network. It is also a picture of what we do, in three steps.
Three points, not touching
That is most of us. Good businesses, working hard, sitting a hundred metres apart and barely knowing each other. Every one of them solving the same problems on their own.
The lines are what we add
Members meet each other. You find out who is good, who is hiring, what worked and what did not. Nothing about your business has to change. Only who you know changes.

One business saying something is a complaint. Every business in town saying the same thing is a position. The green point is what we make when we get there together.

One merchant rate for the whole district.
Every business here pays a fee on every card payment. Most have never checked what theirs is. On your own you have no leverage with a bank. Together we put through tens of millions of dollars a year, and that got us a written offer for a group merchant rate.

The rate is for members
Join for $99. Once you are a member we will email you to get you set up. Every business that signs up adds to the volume, which keeps the rate strong for everyone.
Your agreement, your call
You sign your own agreement at the group merchant rate, or you stay where you are. We never handle your money and we never sign anything on your behalf.
The merchant fee calculator works it out from one month of your statement. Your statement stays on your device.
Your real saving depends on the cards your customers use and on your current contract. Amex, Diners, Alipay, WeChat and UnionPay are not included in the group merchant rate.

Local businesses, not a committee with a logo.
Grey Business Network is the trading name of the Grey District / Māwhera Business and Promotions Association Incorporated. We are an incorporated society, run by a committee of people who own and run businesses in this town.
Retail, trades, tourism, hospitality, professional services. Anyone trading in the Grey District can join. There is no size test and no invitation needed.
